Benjamin Prud'homme

Board Director

Benjamin sits on Arq's Board of Directors, helping hold the organisation accountable to its mission. He is Vice-President of Policy, Safety, and Global Affairs at Mila, the Quebec AI Institute, where he conducts work on the governance of Advanced AI systems.

Benjamin is an expert for the OECD.AI Network, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and RAI UK Ambassadors Council, as well as a Fellow at the Oxford Martin School AI Governance Initiative. He contributes to the International AI Safety Report, led GPAI's project "Towards Substantive Equality AI" and edited Mila-UNESCO volume "Missing Links in AI Governance".

Previously, Benjamin advised Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs on human rights and multilateral relations. A lawyer by training (Quebec Bar, 2013), he also sits on the boards of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and Legal Aid Montreal.
