James works on Arq’s external communications, helping its research reach policymakers, media, and funders. He also advises on events, fundraising, and building the team’s capability in public speaking, media engagement, and crisis communications.
Most recently, James was Senior Strategy Director at the Alliance of Democracies Foundation, working across communications, programmes, events, and other initiatives to advance democracy.
He previously served as a spokesperson for a political group in the European Parliament and as Communications Director to a former NATO Secretary General, working with democratic governments including Ukraine.
